A vividly
interfaith experience, this gathering will include representatives
of many spiritual traditions to join in worship, share the
roots of peace and justice in their religious tradition,
tell of their work for peace and justice, educate us about
how to do our peace and justice work more effectively, and
celebrate a shared vision of a more peaceful world. Here's
a brief preview.
After a reception and
dinner on Friday evening, Rabbis Arthur Waskow and Rachel
Berman will welcome us all with a Shabbat Service.
We will then hear from
our keynote speaker, Rabbi Michael Lerner, founder and
editor of Tikkun Magazine and co-founder with Cornel West
and Susannah Heschel of the Tikkun Community.
On Saturday morning, we
will gather at Arch Street Meeting House for an interfaith
worship service, which will be followed by a panel discussion
among spokespersons for the world's major faith traditions
as we explore the source of our justice and peace testimonies.
